The Postures (asanas) release tension in our body, increase flexibility, strength, muscle tone and range of motion as well as promote correct body alignment. The holding of the postures help to focus awareness and calm the mind. (Postures are always modified for your ability and unique physical condition).
The Breathing Exercises (pranayama) “Take a deep breath” works! Yoga breathing techniques instruct us to breathe, so your lungs are used properly. The strategy of various breathing techniques, teach us to focus on our breath to help quiet our inner dialogue relaxing our mind and body.
Yoga Relaxation and Meditation Techniques promote body-mind awareness. Stress reduction is good for everyone! We learn to relax our body and mind by becoming aware of where we hold tension and then we learn to release that tension.
Yoga Philosophy inspires living in the present moment, not reminiscing about the past or worrying about the future. Understanding yoga’s principles for daily life helps us to find your own sense of inner peace and happiness.
